Cayuga Bird Club, your host of this year’s NYSOA meeting, will be on hand to meet and greet attendees, share sightings, swap stories and answer any questions you may have. Our members share a common bond, but are a diverse group of people with wide-ranging professions and backgrounds.
eBird provides a mechanism to gather bird sightings, photos and sounds to power data-driven approaches to science, conservation and education. Merlin is a birding guide that helps quickly identify birds in any country using field marks, photos and/or sounds. Members of both the eBird and Merlin teams from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology will be on hand to answer your questions about these very useful apps.
Karen Allaben-Confer Art, original artwork using pastels, pencil and watercolors. Birds have been her primary focus for nearly four decades. Her work beautifully demonstrates her knowledge of avian biology, behavior, and ecology.
Kayla Fisk creates art illustrating the incredible diversity found in the world of birds as well as a series that includes drawing the birds of North America life size. Each species illustrated is available as art, earrings and stickers.
New York Bird of the Year, a new NYSOA initiative, is a fun way for birders to share our excitement about birding with our fellow birders, family, and friends by focusing on a specific New York bird species to search out, identify, and enjoy in a creative way.
Mayuko Fujino Stencil Art. Mayuko Fujino is a self-taught artist from Japan living in Columbia County, NY, whose stencil paintings have been featured in Audubon Magazine's Aviary series, Constitution Marsh Audubon's Spring Benefit, and on the cover of the Nature Conservancy's Annual Report. Fine art prints and greeting cards featuring local birds and nature sites in upstate New York will be available.

NYS Breeding Bird Atlas is a five-year project (occurring every 20 years) relying on volunteer field observers to visit various habitats within assigned blocks and record evidence of breeding for as many species as possible. The Third Breeding Bird Atlas effort finished in 2024 and results are now being analyzed and compared with previous numbers and distributions of breeding birds across New York State.
NYSOA (NY State Ornithological Society), established in 1948, is our statewide organization dedicated to documenting the ornithology of New York State, and provides informational and educational resources for birders and ornithologists alike, and organizes annual meetings and conferences for birders across the state.
New York State Young Birders Club falls under the umbrella of NYSOA and conducts monthly field trips around the state, offering young birders (ages 10-19) the opportunity to go birding with their peers, often in places they've never explored before.
Randi Minetor crisscrosses the country regularly to research and shoot photos for books on birds, hiking, history and America’s national parks. A wife-and-husband team, the Minetors have worked together on more than thirty books to date, including their comprehensive Birdfinding guides.

Sue deLearie Adair’s artwork is inspired by her love of the natural world. A birder for over 30 years, she features detailed subjects with simple, sometimes even stylized, backgrounds, drawing in various combinations of graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor.

There is a locked room for use by vendors on Friday night, if helpful for overnight secure storage.
All vendors and sponsors are encouraged to donate an item for our Silent Auction.
